Beam Waver
How do magnetic distortions change our observation of images and reality?
Artist David Scheidler studies this question using BEAM WAVER, an installation that shows how external forces like magnets can influence how we experience images. Four magnets positioned around a television screen invite the visitor to actively participate in image distortion. By rotating the magnets together or individually, visitors can play with the balance between order and chaos, creating psychedelic rainbow patterns and waves on the screen.
