Victor Sonna

Victor Sonna is a visual artist born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. He graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven and Ak St. Joost and lives and works in the Netherlands. His artistic practice is formed and informed by his genealogy. The experience of being in-between cultures shines though his works, which is often born from tensions arising between cultures and styles, resulting in artworks that de-familiarize and test the boundaries.

He creates intricate assemblages of found, disparate materials, transforming them into unique and dynamic pieces with a new energy and meaning.

In recent years his work has been shown at Dak'Art Biennale, Dutch Design Week and Deutsches Museum, and is part of international private and public collections.
