Infrastructures of (non)fact (performative lecture)

Martyna Mariciniak will deliver a performative lecture combined with screenings that weave in excerpts from her last 3 works. Throughout the session, she will illustrate and discuss how synthetic image phenomena emerge as manifestations of the wider visual internet culture and of the limits of computation.

Martyna is a Polish, Berlin-based artist, researcher and 3D designer. Her work is an exploration of visual storytelling, and involves animation, film, writing and model-making. In her role as researcher she uses visual storytelling to draw attention to systemic violence and human-rights abuses. Her art practice relies on speculative fictions and allegory to expose technological and visual biases, while bridging the domains of aesthetics, law, politics and media theory.
