Interceptor

Interceptor is a 10-channel video sculpture showing thousands of images -many depicting private moments- at high speed. The artist reviewed and edited a vast number of images to reveal recurring themes and patterns. The accompanying soundscape is also built from audio dataset extracts. A critique to the extraction of personal data from everyday life.

Severi Aaltonen is a Finnish contemporary artist based in The Hague whose practice explores archives, images, data, and technology. Influenced by subcultures of sampling and appropriation, he reworks found materials to question authority and the systems that control information.
