Vox Populi (2018) / Massa (2017)

Peter works with the vulnerability of humans. Humans with the only inevitable certainty that they will die, and in the meantime, they have to save themselves in this existence and make that time joyful. Vox Populi and Massa allude to our human tendency to repeatedly fall for demagogues who appear to have our best interests at heart, while cheerfully leading us towards the abyss.

Since the 1980s, Dutch artists Peter Zegveld has been making theater, music and visual arts. But only recently has started working with kinetic installations, often funny and resourceful, like the spirit who wants to escape from the bottle.
