**Part of the GOGBOT x Rijksmuseum Twenthe exhibition [Democracy Now?](https://www.rijksmuseumtwenthe.nl/en/see-and-do/democratie-nu), running from September 17, 2026, through February 14, 2027. The exhibition is free to visit during GOGBOT Festival, reserve [your free ticket](http://gogbot.nl/ticketshop).**

In the 2020 mass protests against the Lukashenko regime in Belarus, peaceful resistance was largely carried by women. This work is a tribute to one of them: musician and activist Maryia Kalesnikava, who was imprisoned in Belarus from 2020 to 2025.

[**Marina Naprushkina**](https://marina-naprushkina.de/) is a Belorussian, Berlin based interdisciplinary artist and activist who develops networks and spaces of self-organization. Her practice examines power relations, resilience, feminist narratives, and care networks. Working across painting, video, and text, she combines artistic research with long-term community-building work.
