In the 2020 mass protests against the Lukashenko regime in Belarus, peaceful resistance was largely carried by women. This work is a tribute to one of them: musician and activist Maryia Kalesnikava, who was imprisoned in Belarus from 2020 to 2025.

Marina Naprushkina is a Belorussian, Berlin based interdisciplinary artist and activist who develops networks and spaces of self-organization. Her practice examines power relations, resilience, feminist narratives, and care networks. Working across painting, video, and text, she combines artistic research with long-term community-building work.
